Blanca Regina

Blanca Regina is an interdisciplinary artist, tutor, and independent curator. She creates multimedia landscapes using voice, objects, electronics, and visuals through spontaneous composition systems. Her work also encompasses book arts, immersive media, and design.

Together with Steve Beresford, she co-founded the Unpredictable Series, focusing on spontaneous music and experimentation in visual arts, following her first collective, Mademotion, founded in Madrid. Blanca Regina and Steve Beresford have produced three albums, ‘What Blue’ (2020), ‘Duets with Blanca Regina, Spontaneous Music’, and ‘Art of Improvisers’ (2017).

She has collaborated with various artists on these albums, concentrating on women improvisers. In 2017, she created ‘Miga’, a limited edition Pendrive and digital release, with longtime collaborator and artist Leafcutter John, capturing their live performances. Her collaborations also extend to music and audiovisual performances with artists such as Matthias Kispert, Peter Cusack, Matt Black, Laetitia Sadier, Marie Merlet, Adriana Camacho, and David Toop.

Blanca Regina has produced exhibitions, performances, and workshops internationally, with presentations at notable venues including Cafe Oto, Turner Contemporary, Barbican, and Tate Modern in London, as well as PhotoEspaña, La Casa Encendida, and Cruce in Madrid. Her international presentations also include venues in Mexico, such as Fundación Pedro Meyer, Biblioteca Henestrosa, El Faro de Oriente, and TerrazaMounstruo, and in Berlin at HKW and Sowieso. She has provided guest lectures and workshops in the UK and internationally, including at the University of the Arts London, Goldsmiths University, Guildhall, and Ravensbourne University.
