Otto Willberg
Otto is a double bass and bass guitarist and improvisor living and working in London. His music has been described as “silky smooth, luxurious, odd and compelling.”
As well as solo, he plays in the groups Yes Indeed (with Laurie Tompkins), and Abstract Concrete (with Charles Hayward). As an improvisor, he has been a regular fixture of London’s scene, playing in various frequent and non-frequent groups. Otto is releasing a solo record called ’The Leisure Principle’ on Black Truffle in September 2023. Other recent projects include the website/archive bootlegspatialrecall.net, which is an ongoing collection of bootlegged public space reverbs. The site was developed as part of Sound and Music’s ’New Voices’ program. Otto released a record called ‘Barbaric Mystical Bored’ as part of this project.
